  • I found this when I was looking for info on flounders (to convince daftfader that such fish actually existed) – and forgot to share it..

Fresh fish delivery nationwide,Free nationwide delivery,Seafood to your door

To be fair it makes sense that DF had not yet encountered them, as they are seasonal, quite expensive, and his bit of the Thames/North Sea was until recently way too filthy for them to thrive. The reason eels were once popular food in London is that it was all you could find in the Thames which was a open sewer (its a bit better now these days)/

Anyway a few years ago when I lived in Reading, this big tabby tom cat would always wander in and out of shared houses and squats in East Reading. I’d see him nearly everywhere, he was very friendly and I wondered if he was someones pet, a stray, and what happened to him..

Anyway it turns out this fish company run a animal sanctuary – he got picked up by them and is living there now!

(He is Anthony on the list of animals)

that has to be really good luck for a cat, to be taken in by a sanctuary run by a fish shop :laugh_at:

ah I remember now – it was the drug you thought didn’t exist and it was a silly name for a substance like a flounder.

TBH its also silly to use a pet shop to launder money as its one of the UKBA watched businesses anyway – they are always suspected of bringing in CITES species (especially smaller creatures) illegally from foreign lands. Not sure what happened to the man in the end, at least Dalton Zoo is well equipped to look after his stock whilst he’s in jug…

At least he wasn’t using animals to smuggle in/out the drugs like i’ve heard happening b4.

Yep feds busted a gang in 2003 using labrador retreivers for this, they sent the dogs through on PETS passport from Schipol in Netherlands – sadly the package burst on one and it keeled over but the second survived and got rehomed…

there was a big furore about the French doing this at Frenchtek but it turned out to be a hoax story, their animal rights lot checked it out and it was all bullshit spread by the media – there may have been a few loose/lost dogs but none were being used to carry drugs inside them..

Yeah I remeber that hoax. It was about squat party people smugling drugs and then cutting open the dogs afterwards.
