A stuffed toy animal led to a large-scale police operation in Hampshire and stopped play at the Rose Bowl cricket ground.
The alarm was first raised by a concerned member of the public who believed there was an escaped white tiger hiding in a field near Hedge End.
Officers were sent to the scene along with a helicopter and thermal imaging cameras, at about 1600 BST on Saturday.
When no body heat was detected police moved in and found a cuddly toy tiger.
A police spokesperson said officers had responded as if it was a real incident, close to junction seven of the M27.

I can see why people thought it was real from a distance as I’ve seen a white tiger at Colchester Zoo and they are smaller than you think they would be (I was still glad it was in the zoo and not on the streets, some of my relatives in Malaysia have had to avoid tigers!)

No that looks real enough to me , enough to make me poo myself and try and get away in a none panicing ive just pooed myself run !!! ……they can smell the fear apparently :-O !!!!!

Bit of a giveaway though when it’s just been sat chilling in the same position in a field for hours with police choppers flying overhead etc. Apparently they realised it was a hoax when the downdraft from the helicoper bowled it it over!

Maybe it will catch on, perhaps terrorists won’t bother blowing themselves up in UK stations anymore when a strategically placed cuddly toy can have a more dramatic effect on the country…

Dont give them ideas mate , cuddly toys are far more easier to come by then explosives and an idiot willing to go to the here after !!!!! . Toys r us might have to close as they could end up supporting terrorists !!! , who have thought a cuddly toy could be so dangerous !!!!
