also his ASBO only applies to Norfolk so he’s not breached it

he’s got another trump card as he’s old enough to be my Dad and apparently terminally ill, and he’s got no form for dealing drugs – I doubt the cops are going to want to make him spend his last days in HMP Norwich as I think the remaining liberal do gooder sorts on the media would have a field day complaining about the unfairness of this…

disclosing a persons private and personal information on a public forumis is wrong.
any inforamatoin about any rig owner or partygoer must remain confidential. assuming that because of anyones age or health it will exclude them from going to jail is stupid . it suggests that they are doing somehing bad enough to be locked up. take more care of what you disclose .youve got nothing to lose others have.

i thought it was a shame so many people left as soon as the police arrived.its better to leave in convoy .plus show a little more support for the rigs and the effort put in .AND take some rubbish home with you.

On this forum, we actually protected the man involved for all the time leading up to his Court case – editing posts, removing others with bait info about him that would prejudice his case (many other forums did not and even put his full name and picture about at several points prior to his case).

Now he has had his day in court – and the info about him is now in the public domain having been published by local and national media. His name is is no longer private, due to his own actions. That said I felt as an individual he handled it very well all considered. I notice he didn’t exactly shy away from the publicity either (other people in court often try to avoid being photographed).

If I were to go and rob somewhere or serve up a load of drugs and get caught, my name would be in the papers. People would be able to put it on blogs and forums far and wide or even email it to my mum (who now lives hundreds of miles away in another country) and there would be nothing I could do about it. Loads of my mates have ended up in the papers in various times and their cases have been discussed on forums. This isn’t the only forum around, there are lots of normal peoples ones and anti-rave places.

I once found a blog from some Indian chap who was anti drugs and he had put the names up of everyone the police busted at a rave in India. (out there they send everyones name to the media!) Now it was all in some Indian script so I couldn’t read them, but it meant the whole world could see it.

Even if we don’t agree with laws, in a democratic nation with a free press we still have to accept some of the consequences until or unless we can change them by the proper channels.

I know that old and unwell people can go to jail as I work in the elderly care industry – this is why I mentioned HMP Norwich as it is specially adapted for older prisoners and has the same facilities as in a old peoples home – However considering a lot of OAPs are going in for far more serious crimes including violence and murder and he hasn’t actually breached his asbo by being at this rave in a different region I don’t think there is much of a risk. After all with so many cops there they would have hauled the old chap away if they were able to..

What he has done – even by accident – is contributed to an entire region being unable to host parties though – due to rubbish being left behind etc. Friends of mine had to go and clear up after one of his parties. That said, In some respects I do actually think its quite cool a man who would be my Dads age is prepared to put on free parties – I just wish (for his own sake as well) that they could have been better organised.

you’re right, but I’ve seen this situation before (even at the end of a rave without any riot cops battering people) – people are sketched out due to excessive ketamine and can’t or won’t move or act quickly – also there are those (non rig owners) who don’t give a fuck if a stack gets taken as theres so many crews and parties around these days. Also some crews are more stubborn than others rather than everyone coming to a consensus about what to do and when to leave.

A few years ago a friend of mine from a certain crew had to have strong words with another crew in a warehouse party to pack up at the time we’d agreed with the feds (Sunday afternoon, after a excellent nights partying!) as they still wanted to carry on. Because this crew did comply in the end, the cops not only didn’t come back to seize anything, they didn’t even do all the traffic checks and searches – and this was in a county with a zero tolerance policy. Had that crew been stubborn, they would have lost their stack and ended up in Court and the local rag….

the only way it would have worked would be for everyone to have left in convoy as soon as the S63 was given and regrouped at a backup venue… at best they’d have a few more days rave, at worst no one would have got battered or lost any kit..

but people need to act quickly in these situations – they need to think at “internet time” especially with the cops new electronic toys such as airwave radios and in-car CCTV – as well as people our age group who know about raves now being in the force..

DF you werent wearing a sort of beige and light green camo top were you with a skin head? and maybe a green rucksack?

apparently there are two places used by marketing people as the most average parts of England

they are Reading in the South, and Sheffield in the North….

If reading is average, that doesn’t say a lot for the rest of england!
