  • we did get busted tho u gotta admit lool as soon as the chopper was up u new they were on there way

im still trippin out seeing lights n sirens 🙂

Scare tactics were the order of the day. I saw riot police beat a woman to the ground. GENERALLY very nasty policing. Only a couple of stones thrown by kids from the back but they were met with indiscriminate baton charges. I also heard of a male police driver wheel spinning his vehicle and driving direcly at a pedestrian, a female officer shouted out to the driver to stop. Shamefull behaviour compared to Devon and Cornwall’s approach to policing the Camelford party which worked and caused no trouble. I’m sure videos and pictures of what happened will be appearing soon…

Im a bit bummed I didnt get a chance to get down to this! Comon people, how did it go?? at least I can live it through your words. :weee:

OB are scum. they really are a bunch of cunts.

was good while it lasted, but seriously dusty!! too dusty really, getting proper annoying after a while. If it was for that it was a nice location, wicked views from the top of the quarry n that.

Music was havin it constantly. I thought there would be more, better link ups than there was. Only bout 3 main link ups and couple little extras. Sun was shining a beaut most of the time. Rain would have been welcome tho to settle some fackin dust!! Bare dubstep, jungle, a filthy phat techno – hard tek rig. AAAAAAAAAAll good. Could see from the top of the quarry Police were all lining up the other side of the valley with horses and dogs, they came down to the party and pounced on 1 rig and proceeded to smash a few folk up. few rocks go launched by ravers (nice one:you_crazy ) we hung about for a bit as our driver was still over the limit but we were moved on in no time and asked to leave.

over all, good party, shame bout all the dust and the early finish.

sounds like mansfield desert 2004 (the furthest North I have ever been in my life), we tracked that red dust all the way back to Maidenhead and Reading :laugh_at:

    Makes you sick doesn’t it.

Just shows though it “ain’t just norfolk”…

actually I’ve seen riot cops more often in SE England than in East Anglia, although only about 5 times in total in 17 years.

Whats more worrying is how and why it suddenly turns from one set of friendly bobbies to horses and baton charges, something must have happened for the cops to be given the go ahead to clear the area by force.

When it happened in East Anglia last year it was the case a S63 had been served and ignored (although this was also due to confusion with it showing an incorrect date) – however this doesn’t seem to be the case for this recent event.

However cops don’t just do this on a whim, it takes time to assemble the resources needed, and everyone up north was saying “oh the cops are OK about free parties..”

TBH the moment you see cops changing their uniform from normal bobby uniform to “public safety gear” (the “PC PC” term for riot gear) its prudent to get the fuck out of the area as quickly as you can. at this point it means the cops have been authorised to use whatever necessary force to clear the area.

it was simple they knew we were there from the start (obviously with the cops on the front gate)

they obviouslyt thought we had had our fun it was 5 on sunday afternoon, they just wanted us to get the fuck out of there, good thing it wasnt any earlier, i never saw any of the police brutality, but i heard it from a mate who came back to the car, i walked up the track when it was about to start

the helicopter coming over gave it away a bit tho flying over proper low

I’ve been in this situation before (in “on top” Norfolk of all places!) but with people being allowed to leave peacefully at an agreed time and the backup units actually being stood down!

They didn’t even search any vehicles on exit, not even the rig van… and seen the same happen at other raves

so what was really happening? were people being sketchy and doing “one last line” and not leaving quickly enough (bear in mind coppers don’t know if its sketchiness or some sort of “fight the babylon” type plan)?

unfortunately the moment you see “riot squad” there is going to be police brutality if people don’t obey exactly what they say. they put on that uniform because they are expecting resistance from their opponents. This kind of policing has been perfected over 30 or so years, from the times when Britain changed and people stopped just obeying authority figures without question (particularly the 1970s and 1980s which were times of way greater social tension compared to today)

    I had a wicked timeraaa

That dust was head doing though, i’m still pulling it out of my nose:yakk:

    banging tunes, cool people.

good to meet so many partyvibe folk, i bumped into starlaugh, playground.p, rach, djprocess bubblejuice, dom s u f c.

only downside was i bumped into bloody sparkplug too

only joking mate:laugh_at: did you have a good one?
oh yea and did daftfader get home?

no, i reacon it was obvious that the police wanted to close it down quickly and swiftly, with no probs (even if violence had to be used)

your right tho definantly no point in sticking around if violence is going to be used, all vans were getting searched on the exit for rig equipment, so i guess they will be prosecuted

i dunno if it was a SSSI either or a “special place” to the public whitch would be more of a reason to act quickl and swiftly

They was trying to scare people off, all them that marched in with the riot gear and the horse ones went as soon as people started going

they went backed to where they was parked and waited there.

I did’nt see the violence cos i was sat well away from them pesky sniffer dogs:wink:

if anyone wants to challenge via IPCC or court or human rights laws the tactics used, the one factor would be the timescale between the first directions to leave and the cops assembling units in public safety gear and baton charging. Was any S63 served, and at what time?

there must still be a legal argument thats there should be a reasonable time given for people to get off site before force is used.

However kids throwing rocks or anything of any kind (even small stones) gives the feds an excuse to declare “code 00 situation” (cops under attack) and react with force.

the venue is still someone elses private property so the cops are entitled and expected by its owners to defend it.

that’s me told, then eh, GL? :hopeless:

i’m not sure what happened here, the police attitude changedquite dramatically from what i heard. when i left around 5am, the police took the piss out of me for leaving early! they were very relaxed about the whole thing, but then when a friend of mine was leaving around 3pm there were mounted units preparing to go in.

i’m sure when you have got big multiriggers it makes comunication with the police much more complex and it is more difficult to speak with one voice. especially true when everyone is a bit messy.
