yep I heard about that and it obviously doesn’t help.

people were however even with this party saying that the cops were OK at the start..

not that different to Norfolk at all – perhaps the reason only Sheffield has a party scene is because the other counties have been locked down already?

the constabularies organise in groups and work together now so if one force feels “overwhelmed” by a spate of illegal events it helps the other (for instance Suffolk does a lot of intelligence gathering and passes it on to Norfolk).

the wider problem is even if your area and crews doesn’t take the piss, someone else will . In fact what brought Norfolk on top was certain crews from SE England (where they had already been locked down) latching on to smaller parties and turning up uninvited and then rinsing the venues, and their crowds leaving rubbish/smashing things etc..

did anyone get a photo of the riot cops where you can actually see the force code letters on their helmets? that will at least tell you how many forces were involved. these are the two yellow letters for the forces most likely to be involved

“BD” is Lancashire (as in “BD BD to Z Victor 1”, ask your older brother/sister or your dad about this one :wink:)

“CK” is GMP and it doesn’t mean they get Calvin Klein stab proof vests (its just that the Home office ran out of letters starting with B and had to use C)

it used to be classified but the scanner crew put it online a few years ago and now its derestricted due to airwave.

incidentally at this level cops are cops whether north, south, east or west – when its got to the point of them being authorised to wear riot gear the force boundaries and “local arrangements” disappear. The “friendly Welsh bobbies” were just as up for clearing wentwood as the English coppers despite it being formerly a safe area..

saw that one on SJ, but the dust and lack of resolution obscure the yellow letters.

Both lancs and GMP have mounted sections – unlike many southern forces which do not, Norfolk and Suffolk and Essex don’t have one (ironic given that horses aren’t thin on the ground here..)
