BTW all four Welsh constabularies or heddlu are giving a “EA style” warning against further raves..

to be honest all the media on this event hasnt been too skeptical – it has been very justified. such as “although peaceful, was still illegal”… and “ravers took litter home with themselves”

    etc

It could have been, I recall it being in the brownish rather than blueish spectrum but that’s about it.

the media coverage of EA raves was suprisingly positive right up to the zero tolerance clampdown…

what matters is what the locals think.

BTW here’s G-GMKD (it would seem odd the local spotters didn’t give a much clearer description of this as its a very obvious plane and regular in the area)

Six men have been charged with licensing offences following an illegal rave held in a Pembrokeshire village over the bank holiday weekend. The men, who are aged between 23 and 52 and from towns across England, will appear before Haverfordwest magistrates on Thursday. They are charged with offences under Section 136 of the Licensing Act for carrying out unlicensed licensable activity.

About 2,500 people attended the rave. Residents in Dale, near Milford Haven, said cars descended on the area over the bank holiday, with people travelling from as far afield as Devon, Hampshire and the north east of England. Of the ten people arrested, four have been bailed while the investigation continues, Dyfed-Powys Police said. The men charged were a 39-year-old from Taunton, a 29-year-old from Peterborough, a 34-year-old from Peterborough, a 37-year-old from Peterborough, a 52-year-old from Milton Keynes and a 23-year-old from Hungerford.

might seem odd they’ve charged people from miles away but this is a big propaganda coup for the heddlu as they can now argue its folk from areas where raves have already been prevented rather than local crims (that would mean the local heddlu are less effective)

this will also result in seeminly unconnected arrests for drugs and other criminal activity across the UK due to the intelligence gathered – as occured in the wake of the ’06 megariot. The cops know that licensing offences rarely have harsh penalties unless they put the case before Crown Court (they may well do) but other crimes are much easier to bust people for…

just seen a guy I know is one of the ones being charged, he’s never been involved in selling drugs and I doubt he was a major organiser of this either.. Seems they’re clutching at straws trying to make an example of who they can and rushing the case through, from what I can gather there’s a few holes in the OB’s case which hopefully will come up, fingers crossed for those being charged and still stuck down there!

TBH I don’t think the cops are particularly bothered about long term charges, just getting the rigs out of circulation for as long as possible. I know of one crew what has had their stack held for months and they thought they were in a licensed venue!

at present they will only ever get a few people out of the hundreds at raves, but going by the precedents of East Anglian cases and thus common law its not looking good. the goodwill of normal Welsh folk (if it ever existed at all and wasn’t just the fact their authorities have less money than the SE or East) has been exhausted anyway.
