re the noise abatement – it’s a load of crap about last year, it did not continue all night, we switched off at 1am as far as I remember, plus the council man who was supposed to come and monitor levels went on holiday instead, so even though we knew we were within the set levels (our sound man was testing them every half hour) we couldn’t get any confirmation. The council woman phoned from a blocked number and left a voicemail to call her back but without leaving a number so we phoned the police who said………..they had not had any complaints! It was farcial. SO this year there is a noise abatement in place from 11pm to midday. This doesn’t mean we can’t play music after 11pm it just means it has to not be audible from the village, this is about 1km away so our plan is to face all tents in the opposite direction and go down to one tent after 11pm plus the cinema. We had to fight hard with the parish council who initially were totally opposed (because of the bloody county council messing up last year) – that article is very biased and the writer emailed us previously making it sound like she wanted to show us in a positive light (of course) and wanting interviews – we refused and just sent a quote which she didn’t even use most of it.
Anyway we have put together what we hope will be a lovely little event and hope to see as many of you as possible there!
