Hi there, since this is my first post (and a long-winded one at that) I’ll start by introducing myself. My name is Elain, a.k.a. the editor of Thoughtcrime.org.uk.
Thoughtcrime.org.uk is going to launch some time in May (fingers crossed) and I am currently searching for contributors to write and shoot for it. A fair few mates have told me that Partyvibe’s a pretty wicked site so I thought I’d get on here and scoop up some undiscovered, underground writing/photography talent… before someone else does 😉
Some of the types of work that I’m looking for will be: opinions, news, reviews, essays, photo essays, videos, upcoming event listings, artwork and prose. However, because Thoughtcrime.org.uk is coming at the underground from a creative angle, variations and inventions of all of the above will be accepted, as long as they’re good quality.
I’d eventually like this site to cover all of London’s free and not-for-profit underground communities in one way or another. So, while potential correspondents need not have been published before, they do need a fairly solid background in at least one of the following areas:
Underground Arts i.e.:
– Squatted or not-for-profit galleries, exhibitions and networks
– Unsigned and/or political bands
– Free festivals
– Underground fanzines or websites
– Squat parties
– Independent craftsmen/women
Activism, ie:
– Direct action
– Women’s issues
– Race and immigration issues
– ID and privacy issues
– Squatter’s rights
– Community building
– Environment and climate change
– Anti-arms
– Animal welfare
…etc.
Thoughtcrime.org.uk is non-profit and ad-free and no one, myself included, will be paid for their contributions. However, I’d like it if any work sent in was:
1) Written by and for Londoners
2) Related to current events
3) Not published on other websites
(Obviously, prejudiced or malicious work of any sort will not be accepted.)
All correspondents and contributors will naturally retain their copyrights and full control over their work. Also, I’d like Thoughtcrime.org.uk to be a collective site, so all contributors will be encouraged to develop it with their own suggestions and ideas.
So if you love the underground and want to share your thoughts with the rest of London, please write to editor@thoughtcrime.org.uk. If you are unable to contribute something yourself, I’d be grateful if you would pass this info on to someone else who might be interested.
Thanks if you’ve taken the time to read all this. I look forward to meeting you all soon, either on the boards or through Thoughtcrime.org.uk!

welcome to PV
Cheers! Love the signature, by the way
cheers, I hope so too…
Welcome to PartyVibe.
What you are doing sounds extremely interesting, we have quite a few London based members who will probably see this thread within the next couple of days.
Writing about activism would appeal greatly to me, particularly the issues of equality, human rights, alternatives to capitalism, Palestine… I’d love to add climate change but I have to admit it’s not something I have an extensive knowledge of. Unfortunately I’m about 200 miles away from where I could be of any use!
Hope it all goes well.
Boothy

Thanks a lot Boothy, both for the kudos and for passing the word on:love:.
Welcome to PV – the magazine sounds interesting but does it have to be exclusive to Londoners? I am actually a Londoner but moved away some years ago. There are also many people with alternative views and talents in suburban towns such as Reading, Colchester, Ipswich etc (areas influenced by London but not strictly within the capital..)
Cheers:cool: Seeing as the site hasn’t been launched yet, yes I’m open to receiving work from contributors outside of London. So send away, General Lightning!
There’s been a pretty positive response concerning this website so far, so I’m going to start setting up an email list for people who are thinking of contributing writing or artwork to it. That way I can keep them up to date about forthcoming deadlines, launch dates and so on.
So if you’re considering contributing to Thoughtcrime.org.uk, please send me your email addy either by PM or to editor@thoughtcrime.org.uk.
Thanks, guys!
There is a community building right next to me i shall point them in your direction , hello and welcome teh parteh vibe

Was gonna ask about this as I’m a displaced londoner. Privacy and womens stuff are my relevant interests.
