Well i think i like all kinds of electronic dance music, although i tend to prefer trance and house…. sometimes techno and hardstyle aswell depending on my mood. 😉
to be honest i have only visited the mayday until now and it was awesome.. i wanted to visit the nature one, too, but on that weekend i was flighing to london. so now i am looking for some nice events here in the uk.
i can’t really tell how many people on a party i prefer but i guess i like the really big ones (like it to get lost in the crowd^^)…. the mayday 08 had about 25000 visitors. nevertheless i think im fine with something aound 1000 aswell.
i have never been on a free party until now but that might change i the future…:bounce_fl

for big massive commercial raves with these sorts of music the main names to look for are
Raindance
Tidy weekender
Raverbaby
HTID
(note: our “hardcore” tends to have more “happy” sounds to it, more similar to Marusha. people either love or hate this)
if you go to the dontstayin.com link in my first post you will see loads, they are very heavily advertised.
DSI is organised by region of England so its very useful to find venues near wherever you are.
Also, if you look on our events section there are many events in London advertised. These are smaller but more underground in their atmosphere.
Hello to all the people here!
What r raves like nowdays compared with say 8 or more years ago? I used to go heaps from the early 1990’s until early 2000 and I still love electronic music especially Acid Techno. So what can you hear nowadays?
Cheers!
i cant at the mome- looking after my daughter and living in another country. so thats why i ask
which country and region are you talking about? can’t speak for other countries but the preferred music /crowds in the UK tends to vary by region…
Still get acid techno up here if i’m playin
If anyone over the age of 25, says “Shit, not like they used to be” im going to cry.
Shit, not like they used to be…..
Sorry couldn’t resist… just wanted to see u cry… lol
Were an acid techno/techno rig. Very few of people on the net forums actualy go to raves even when invited. Most go to clubs the odd time but thats about it.
Raves ie (free partys) are usualy small around 100 people, you may get a multi rigger with 500 – 600 ocasionaly. Most music is Drum & bass unless you have one of the few Techno or Trance rigs there.
Most partys are hastle free and not busted (contrary to net paranoia) unless you stick it all over facebook or shout about it and hold it next to a farm or in a city centre estate.

Were quite lucky In Lincolnshire. We usually have a group of 4/5 rigs doing parties and 90% is Acid Techno. With the rest being Hardstyle & Hardtrance. Infact alot of people down south having been coming up our way this year with the lockdowns and what not, some making farily regular trips from 100s of miles away :weee: Must be doing something right raaa
Still only ever 200 max though, unless Its a special occasion or a random coincidence. Amount of people doesn’t generally bother me though.
As for most people not going on this site. Its true, but I think the attraction to this site is the mature conversation, which unfortunately mostly means “older” people. Course most older people have kids and careers which is hard to fit in with a life of partying often, so one has to go… I think you Mr AHC are just quite lucky in your way of living to do what you do, but alot of people don’t have the same free way of life and can’t party as much and what not.
SJ Is a little different though, most people on there do party, but then again most have those have strange online personas, and it creates a completely different forum to here as we all know like… Not to mention I think the average age (and mental) is alot lower then here 😉 Still there’s some really good folk on there.
Alot of 1st generation ravers dont even do anything to do with the scene anymore. Like my mum. But she has a full time career, 3 kids, and a house. She’s still the same free thinking person, just can’t contribute the same like she used to. So in a way Its great alot of the non partying folk still come on here to share experiences and stories. Can’t blame em for not partying.
i’m not blaming them, just think that pretending to be a party goer is abit stupid.
I’ve posted details in pms to people on here who have pretended to support the scene, theyve had my personal numbers, know where i live ect.
but when it comes to events there no where to be scene, even legle events which have been easy to get to.
there eather time waisters or informants looking for drug busts. there 3-4 good full on active members on here who i know give 100% to the scene up here. djprocess, southcaver ect n maybe boothy n co given a few years but alot use it as a chat room to talk about whiping bottoms n what a magic mushroom looks like.
its getting to the stage where i think sj is the more proactive forum. you cant even sell a set of bass bins without someone putting a stupid innane comment in.
