Subject: Views on Park Lane Rave?
Dear Party Vibe,
Just a quick email to see if you knew of anyone that could speak to us about the party on Park Lane last night? We’re after a quick interview or some views from someone who has experience of these type of parties. It would be great to hear from you – please give me a ring back on 0207 430 4133 or 07989 534554 if you get this.
Kind Regards,
Tom Hensby

thursday rave?
mostly teenage kids innit? – is it half term in Londonistan?
didn’t even think London News Network still existed (used to repair equipment for them!) , thats a blast from the past!
FFS. How stupid can you get. I can’t think of anywhere more likely to piss off lots of rich influential people than Park Lane (the most expensive place on a monopoly board).
By the looks of it the party had nothing to do with the free party scene, and was some kind of teenage Skins-style houseparty in a squatted building so I wouldn’t have thought many people on here know much about it tbh (though the media will no doubt link the party to “illegal rave culture”).
Here’s the BBC report:
BBC News – Police hit with missiles at Park Lane ‘Facebook’ party
Edit: I’ll happily send this TV guy an email if he can supply his address.
Some kids have piped up to the Grauniad claiming it was a political protest and “party against the banks” as the building was “allegedly owned by HSBC”. So they are going to make the progressive activists (some of whom do have some reasonable ideas) look like idiots as well as free party organisers in the full view of the media.

metpol must be having a good laugh at this, and Ali “G” Dizaei (who was actually tolerant of raves during his time at TVP) banged up all in the same week, its a massive PR boost to the cops…
idiots
Damn I hope our scene doesn’t get tarnished with that brush.
Damage has already been done ages ago, its not as if Metpol, TVP and East Anglian constabularies don’t talk to one another – they have forums / social networks just like this to exchange info on except they are called “team rooms”.
it annoys me more they’ve latched on to the “right on” campaigners and used their name- wouldn’t have been so bad if they’d genuinely set up a infoshop/social centre or a proper squat but that clearly looks like just rinsing a building for a party.
Even the cops in this area have taken people to task for this, one sarge said to some local ravers “you’re not proper squatters, real squatters are genuinely homeless and try to make a living space/community and are involved in political campaigns you lot only want to use this building as a playground and will go back to your mums and dads after trashing it” (its quite surreal when a cop in uniform is saying this to youths, particularly as he seemed relatively sympathetic to the concept of genuinely homeless people squatting a building, not what you’d expect from the Police!)
I want to get into this scene.
Please PM / e-mail me if your have any info at all. Only been to a couple of raves before, but loved them. however, they were all when I was travelling and haven’t been able to find any up here yet…
Help appreciated! X x
theres one down the lane behind that awkward looking telephone box
I’m really new to all this, and have like no experience regarding parties, illegal squats, drugs or partyvibe. So can someone help me out here?
For example… WTH is squatjuice? And how do you know someone’s replied to your posts?
And also, can people PM me about things happening in London? I have MSN, and definitly not an OB, got arrested by one once though.
