I could go down to my local church and be welcome there despite being an atheist. And that’s Church of England… although tbh I think this is more to do with the local vicar (who is a very good man with some quite liberal beliefs for a religious figure) than the CofE’s overall policy.

i’m sure ur as well aware as the rest of us, that we have a problem. after all, even George Bush knows that, and he doesn’t even read books!

No – just SAYING you’re a Christian, you go to church etc. does NOT mean that you are in right standing with God! And beats the heck outta me why atheists would go to church…but they do!!! It’s a bit strange IMO……:crazy:

So Bush made mistakes….doesn’t mean he didn’t do things right sometimes!!!! What would you have had him do after 911 – go and beg the perpetrators for an apology?????

As far as Obama goes, we’ll just see……

well, the US is certainly a whole lot more popular than it was the day before yesterday, looking at the news websites! I can’t see a black man/woman leading any of the european nations in the near future, altho maybe that will change now… so yeah, credit where credit is due.

If Mcain had got in, i don’t believe he would have changed much at all, for example, in iraq.

so i don’t think that ANY change would have been good…

Hold on, what’s wrong with gay marriage? Don’t even go all religious on my ass with this one. I’m Catholic and I’ve searched everywhere in the Bible about gay marriage and the teachings on it – gay SEX is not allowed for the sole idea that sexual intercourse should only be for reproduction, not pleasure. Many Christians read that and get the complete wrong idea and assume it means God’s condeming all homosexuals.

“An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth…” is that where your ideas of Capital Punishment come from? As in, if someone kills, they themselves should be killed? Where has all your Christian second chances and forgiveness gone?
