  • The irony is that some members could be the law!!

Hahahaha they must be like wtf! 🙂

we’ve had a few genuine cops post over the years; and half the worlds cops/feds lurking openly at various points; although cops posting was more common a decade ago when this site was openly used to advertise unlicensed music events.

They would openly state their constabulary details and contact info and use one of the various IP addresses which are officially allocated to the govt (and can be easily identified as such) as they knew that trolls might also try and pose as cops for mischief making purposes; and would simply say “these events are unlicensed, don’t advertise them so blatantly online or we might have to do something about it”. To be fair they had been turning a blind eye to the events for 5 years previously!

Most of the “spying” on here is done by the UK’s BBC at Caversham; they only pass info to NCA / GCHQ if they see something particularly bad on here (like evidence of major harddrugs dealing/bullying/abuse) which the mods do their best to keep away from this community.

There is very little cops can now get from this site via undercover means. Perhaps a bit of evidence a piddling amount of hard drugs is being sold amongst desparate addicts in some countries or that some vulnerable people are turning to various forms of sex work; but they should be aware of that anyway and dealing with it via “boots on the ground”; old fashioned police work combined with working alongside health and social care authorities. Thats what we pay our taxes for after all..

    No shit true story incoming……

I was just sat at my mac, streaming the man united game minding my own business when ” knock knock knock” at the front door 5 police officers!!! ( in a nutshell- GF has problems with a psycho ex and hes just been released from prison and has done something awful and as she has restraining order and history etc they came straight here to check) anyway i shit myself as i have an autoflower bigbang ganja plant at 6 weeks on the window sill( showing flowers). Police are invited in by GF and were all sat in the lounge with my lady plant showing all her glory in the windowsill!! they all saw it but didnt even say a word!! anyway situation dealt with and they have gone now but i was shitting bricks!! good to know tho that they obviously see it as a waste of time even dealing with weed now!! Buzzing ! (this story is 100% true and i have pics of the paddy wagon and 3 cars sat outside!! ) and to think i was enjoying a quiet Saturday!! ( sorry for this just had to spew it somewhere!! 🙂

TBH anything cops see on here is light entertainment compared to the real life shit they have to deal with including that stirred up by other online social networks.

During the 90s/2000s I actually lived down the road from BBC Caversham and knew half the engineers in there and we’d often chat about stuff we’d heard on our radio scanners (you could listen into cops back then and half the neighbourhoods cordless phones and until 2000 many mobile phones) – although the cops didn’t like it did mean folk who could listen did have some respect for cops as you heard all the incidents they had to deal with (not just what is on the news); there was often harsh stuff like bad road collisions and violence of all kinds (sometimes involving folk you knew).

TVP and Hantspol have to be fair cleaned up their act loads; they even struck out my drugs cautions because of the flawed info on my intelligence file and I think they didn’t fill in all the paperwork correctly risking me getting mixed up with other people with the same name.

Although cops do have encrypted digital comms and a lot more surveillance / capabiliities than before their own intelligence gathering (at least in the UK and Europe) is showing that domestic violence and dangerous road use are far more of a threat to society than most recreational drug use….

    drugs

It just felt right you know?? they blatantly saw it but didnt bat an eye lid the reason they were here for was hardcore etc but its good man. Dorset police i think like 2 other forces came out recently and said in a nutshell they wont be going after peeps like me. It just felt like a step forward you know?? I tell you what the British police etc get a lot of shit but compared to the rest of the world i don’t think we do to bad.

    hahahahahahah what you write ?????????????

Excuse me, might someone teach me how to read your messages and e mails. For I have no life and just might like to live vicariously thru yours. The paranoia runs rampant thru your veins. Put the pipe down

in my country (England) many local cops wear a distinctive tall helmet [if you are from elsewhere you may have seen it when there are movies or TV about the UK]. it is often called a “bobby’s helment” after the Home Secretary (interior minister) Sir Robert Peel who introduced the concept of having local constabularies. Today they can often choose what headgear to wear (some wear peaked caps; others the American style baseball cap, or if they ride a bicycle they usually have to wear a crash helmet for safety).

Some years ago a squat my friends had was raided by Thames Valley police; and the bobby caught the squatters with an ounce (28g) of cannabis. This would normally result in a charge of posssion with intent to supply; which can mean a big fine or prison time.

He picked up the ounce of cannabis, broke it in half; and wrote down 0,5 oz (14g) on the found property sheet; the rest he put inside his helmet; put that back on his head and smiled knowingly at the squatters. they all got let off with cautions and the cop must have been happy too :laugh_at:

not sure if you’ve ever seen Hampshire constabulary in action (as they are the neighbouring force to TVP me and my mates encountered them fairly often; they once banned me from Basingstoke (no great loss TBH) – for some reason their force crest is way larger than all others in England making their traditional headgear comically large by todays standards :laugh_at:

I always thought the tall helmet was meant to make the constable look taller and more intimidating. I find them quite comical. Good place to hide some drugs though.

that was the original intention; it was derived from military/official headgear worn by the British during the Empire days.

There was until the 1980s a minimum height requirement to join the UK Police; until London got invaded by Hong Kong Triads.

it had to be abandoned as unsurprisingly most of Hong Kong CID are around 1,6 to 1,7 metres tall and if there were any British Chinese officers anywhere in UK they were in Northern constabularies and originally from Northern China where folk are taller.

A few years ago my mum was watching telly and there was some ITV reality show about real time crime, they showed a Welsh Chinese policeman wearing the “POLICE/HEDDLU” bilingual hi vis uniform flooring an aggresive drunk (about twice his size) in the middle of Swansea with a perfect karate kick. I said to her “that is an example of British multiculturalism at its finest :laugh_at: “

Lol…I hadnt at all thought I would be pegged as a police officer:/ I am 30 something year old woman who has never done a drug in my life, in which is why I thought I could come to you all for help. A little nervous to say the least… but apparently came to the wrong place. Paranoid much…jeesh!
