Had a seizure once.
I’d blazed far too much bud and was playing Burnout on my PS3. I was with a group of friends. I remember feeling a headache coming on, which is highly unusual for me. So I passed the controller to a friend, deciding I didn’t want to be looking at the screen any longer. But I found myself hypnotised. I literally couldn’t pull my eyes away from the image of the car zooming along as the scenery blurred by. I found the headache worsening the longer I stared at the screen, but I still couldn’t avert my eyes.
All of a sudden I blacked out. At this point I could see a dim red, and could feel myself shaking/being shook. But being completely disorientated, and mid-fitting, I thought I was suddenly in the boot of a car, assuming the red I could see was the tail lights. The shaking sensation I thought was down to the fact I was being taken down a dirt track. In my head I was abruptly in a hostage situation. All I could think is as soon as this car stops I am fucked! My mind racing trying to think of a way to counter my mystery abductor. Then as suddenly as it had started, it stopped. I sat up and somehow instantly knew I’d just had a seizure. It had seemed to me to go on for at least 5 minutes.
What my friends witnessed- I was sat in front of them, they were all on a sofa, I was in a swivel chair. Without warning I went limp, I dropped to one side and my shift in weight caused me to rotate a perfect 180 degrees so I was facing them. All colour had drained from my face and my eyes were rolled back into my skull. Apparently I froze for a moment after going limp and swivelling to face them, making sure they all got a good look at my contorted expression before I started convulsing. The convulsions caused me to fall to the floor and start flopping about like a fish out of water. After 10-20 seconds I just just ceased all motion. And just enough time passed for them to momentarily think, shit he’s dead, before I sat up and nonchalantly informed them I’d just had a seizure.
In conclusion, it was a great experience! The adrenaline rush I got after knowing there was a possibility I could have just died/thinking I was moments from being murdered was immense. If you ever get then opportunity to have a fit and know it isn’t going to be your last, I say go for it. If I had the option to go through that again for the same result, sign me up.
