  • I loooove this combo, I can only smoke weed if I have a valium or xanax or something just because the paranoia gets so bad.

Yes, that’s one of the main reasons doctors prescribe it

Lol I knew that. I guess I was talking about the anxiety/paranoia that comes with weed, not just in general

Just be careful with them benzo’s matie. I have done some stupid things when off my face on them before. Dangerous stuff too. But that aside it can be very nice.

This is true. I stand firmly by my morals of when intoxicated I won’t go anywhere near my car, don’t even like driving stoned which is arguably the least impairing of all drugs in terms of affecting focus and reaction time and everything else you need to be a responsible and safe driver. I have however got in my car after a three day vally binge and not even remembered it, I woke up at my girlfriend’s which was about 5 miles from mine and apparently gave one of my mates a lift home in the opposite direction so probably did like a 10mile drive conscious but blacked out if that makes any sense. The mate I gave a lift to said I was driving like a maniac doing 80mph in 30 zones which I would never do when sober. Could have easily killed myself, and/or someone else and I couldn’t even remember.

Valium is the only drug which has ever caused me to unwillingly break this rule.

Ive done something similar while on Xanax driving my Mum and Sister about bombing it down a country lane at 90mph. To say the least I’m not allowed to drive my Mum and sister anywhere :/

that would’ve been so epic to see.

Was pretty epic until somebody slammed on the handbrake.

Seriously though don’t drive on a high dose of benzos, bad idea

I’ve never really had a problem with anxiety or paranoia brought on by weed so can’t really comment there but others vouch for it so it must work. Just know your limits is all I say. If you have an addictive personality I’d be particularly cautious around any benzodiazepine. Don’t think you get much Valium stateside, your GPs seem to favour Xanax which is a faster acting benzo with a much shorter duration and half life. It is the fast acting ones like Xanax, Etizolam and Midazolam which you are more likely to grow addicted to as they get to work quicker but also leave your system sooner thus leading you to re-dosing more often and developing a stronger tolerance quickly.

Driving on any drug is foolish even weed (no idea why stoners think its acceptable it totally fucks your reaction times and god knows what else).

I find driving a car hard enough when 100% sober TBH (still learning) – probably because I’m sober and more aware of the risks (and roads are busy anyway here).

that is the real reason why the cops round here and in TVP and hantspol don’t like unlicensed raves and are wary about hall parties in remote rural areas especially when you’ve got young and new drivers going hundreds of miles. My own friends have lost about 10 of their mates from RTCs, far more than from drugs alone.

most cops I’ve encountered in the last 10-15 years (even when I’ve been arrested for drugs) have openly said that the only reason they support drugs control is because of risks to users and other peoples health and safety when drugs are used incorrectly, similar to alcohol, and especially if driving is involved. OK this is in affluent areas of SE and Eastern England but its a different attitude to what I’d stereotypically expected the Police to have.

At least licensed premises are usually situated in areas within walking or cycling distance from housing estates (though I’ve never trusted leaving my bike locked up in town, there is one pub in the whole of Ipswich I think it is safe at), and those who drive to and from them are monitored. I’ve even witnessed a traffic officer from TVP speak to my friends who were part of a party crew and congratulate them for holding a warehouse party in a town and encouraging people to walk or cycle to it rather than drive, he had been sent there to use the special camera in his car to gather evidence and he actually said “this really isn’t the best use of my vehicle, I should be out on the A-roads making sure the traffic is safe”.

A wider problem is that Britain as a whole (due to the natives individualistic nature and a lack of joined up transport policy) is far more dependent on cars than it is on drugs (especially if you live outside a big city like London or Manchester) so hardly surprising that folk combine the two and come to grief.

Talking of benzos and weed, even after a few months off I can’t feel 2mg Xanax (and they are not crap I assure). I had 6 30mg DHC the other day and all I got from it was paranoia and an itchy face. Damn drugs and their changing non resetting habits. Got through a box of 30 30mg DHC over a weekend with no euphoria what so ever and at one point some worrying breathing issues (no surprise given the dose).

I have had severe sleeping problems all my life. It takes me about 2 – 3 hours to fall asleep and about 2 hours to wake up.
Had loads of blood tests and physically I am fit as a fiddle. My doctor told me its psychological and I may need help in that area 🙁

I asked for sleeping tablets as the best nights sleep I have experienced have been on valies (just one)
He declined though as they are starting to come down really hard on sleeping tablets. Brighton has the worst sleeping pill addiction in the country

there has been a spate of “unusual” road traffic collisions in my area involving the sort of people who would not normally drive badly, not the stereotypical gary boy/girl but young men and women from their mid 20s to early 40s, often with stable relationships and children. I can’t help but wonder if the increasing use of these drugs may well be a factor as they are seen as “softer” than cocaine or amfetamine type stimulants or party drugs, with benzos especially seen as “medicine” rather than party drugs and more conducive to normal lifestyles involving working, looking after kids etc even if someone is addicted…

I only drive stoned on very rare occasions although I’m in no way advocating it or saying it is okay. Quite frankly I’m an idiot for doing it at all no matter how infrequent.
