some of the winamp plugins with the projector on display 2 might be good without too much fucking about. I think there is a way of making these respond to line in but it was a while ago I looked into this…

I have downloaded various VJ software on my PC at home but have never get round to bothering learning how to work it these days (when you do 50 hour weeks making sure important pieces of technology work as part of your job it tends to sap your energy for doing this at the weekend!)

yep thats one I was thinking of. there is another one as well with Winamp. I think both defaults automatically to the second display if you are running a dual head display or are otherwise comparatively easy to use.

on one of them there is a relatively easy to work with config file you edit with a text editor and this will change the messages what appear on the screen when a function key is pressed.
