  • there have been a few small parties around this part of the country over the summer. i’ve been to a couple and they have been some of the best parties i have ever been to for many reasons. and it’s not just me saying that… many experience festival and party goers have said the same… size, music, location and people have really made it something amazing

if we don’t sell all the tickets on partyvibe, i’m sure a few of the local heads would come along… which would be good as they could chip in with that handy local knowledge about where to go for a swim, beautiful walk etc during the day

when you’ve got over 12,000 members on partyvibe i recon so

yeah most just sign up once and never come back i bet active users that look on here are about 200-300

I think 5-6 systems is enough but I canny see this just being a Partyvibe thing?

i hear what you’re saying about more rigs and i’m not disagreeing, but i’d like to know what people think about how many stages we need.

if there are 6 rigs, with 6 crews (say average 8 people per crew) that leaves 450 people partying. then there will be some people stewarding etc spread over 6 rigs, and some gone off to chill. say 350 people spread over 6 rigs. that’s 58 people at each stage.

i feel that that wouldn’t make for a great atmosphere

I think like glo said first there should be a dance( a mix of different genres) then the alternative stage(for when hardcore comes on or drillcore) and then a chillout with just pre mixed chill sounds with a soundsystem( and the chillout zone should be in a wood bit with projections(but definantly a lazer), with carpets and rope nets to jump around in, having pre mixed stuff would save on some money and u wouldnt need any one to mix anyway as ppl would mostly be talking and ‘holing

We had 30-40 at our last party with a small rig and it was one of the best partys we done all year better than when we’ve had 500 people and 5k.

It all depends where people want to go with it I’ve got a feeling people would be happy which ever way it goes. I’m going to but out now coz were busy with partys and festivals from begining of may till mid june anyway.

drillcore sounds like the loudest noise played to a high speed kick to the face

and about the 2 and chillout area……second (anyone wanna third it)

i’m sure the ideas will keep flowing

    appreciate the input mate 😉

    that’s what I forgot… lazers / quality VJ projections

that will eat up the grand I thought we had left (assuming we can seel all 500 tickets and no crew or staff get a free one

hmmm, that doesn’t leave anything for insurance, which will easily be about £3000

3 marquees is gonna cost £3000+
generators and fuel for 3 days £700
toilets … recommended to have 1 for every ten people. £50 each so £2500 and if you want them emptied (which I would) that’s additional
expenses for rigs / sound engineers £600 for 3 rigs
    lighting rigs £1500
    hire of land £1000
    publicity / tickets / wristbands £1000
    hire of safety equipment £400
    skip / bin hire £700
    license application £21

that’s off the top of my head, but I based it on a one-day free festival i’m organising right now

that leaves £1100 if there’s nothing I’ve forgotten, and I’m sure I have. if there is any profit it will go back into the next event, to cost of the new partyvibe server or to charity. Raj could even publish accounts if no-one believes me

three stages would also be good, but will mean additional costs

we could get a coach down from yorkshire the amount of people on pv that live up here

will save me drivin back spaced out on the monday :laugh_at:

It’s a great idea this, but looking at budget surely between us things can be borrowed ie marquees, lighting, generators. If you have it in May before most of the summer festivals I know at least one marquee that would do it for diesel costs rather than hire costs.
And as for toilets, save money and build your own, very little cost, enviromental and farmers don’t mind as everything is buried afterwards. All you need is a location that’s not below the water table. I’d be happy to volunteer to dig and build. Digging a hole for myself is almost my speciality!

i think glos over budgeting just to give a rough estimate, but u are right welly, i will dig a hole with u, and use it as a compost toilet. sounds sweet, i think before we do anything we need a location.

As welly said i reckon you could cut down on those costs by diggin compost toilets, also im sure if its a PV meet-up can’t the rigs supply their own marquees, lighting, sound engineers, gennys etc. Also if theres 6 rigs that want to do it why not link them and share resources and have three phat systems, have one rigs djs one night and one the other… I reckon have 3 main rigs, a chill-out area (in woods if there is any), and geo-dome for a cafe/welfare area. Thats gotta save a fair bit i reckon. I don’t doubt an event like this could cost a lot of money to put on, but maybe it would be best to have it more as a co-op rather than hiring bits here and there, and then spread any money left to give back to the rigs/helpers….

The problem would be trying to limit the event to 500 people. If you think about it 200-300 active members + 1 friend each + crew = 500+
