although the scene had elements of today it was like a totally different era and listening to these tunes on the pirates and maybe being able to afford 2 or 3 a week from the record shop was as close as most 16 year olds could get to it and the amount of shit you got from parents from being into this “morally dubious music” disproportionate (I didn’t even take drugs then!) – I reckon even Thatcho (if you dug her up) would still want to go back to the 1980s than todays fucked up world…
