I just watched this one; Every day, more people agree that the U.S. War on Drugs has failed… | The House I Live In
Frasier
Luther
Only just got into Heroes after buying the first two series the other week, man I’d been missing out. Me and the girlfriend are also obsessed with Dexter.
Although what I’m actually literally watching is my Venus fly trap devour ants I’m feeding it.

Hey I’m just taking one life to support another, the circle of life lol. I went to a garden centre the other day with the missis and while she was selecting various herbs and vegetable seeds I was looking for plants that do the eating. Got three different ones. My favourite is the Drosera Aliciae (no idea what it’s common name is), it has long sticky tendrils that wrap up like a constrictive tentacle once the prey has stuck to it. I call him Bo (as in boa constrictor), not named the other 2 yet lol.
Just looked it up.. its called the ‘Alice sundew’ apparently. Nice plant man, but it sounds evil as fuck haha!

Thats a badass looking plant right there. I’ve always wondered though, when a venus fly trap “eats” a fly… where does it actually go? Surely it can’t be digested? Does it just decompose?

“If the prey is unable to escape, it will continue to stimulate the inner surface of the lobes, and this causes a further growth response that forces the edges of the lobes together, eventually sealing the trap hermetically and forming a ‘stomach’ in which digestion occurs. Digestion is catalysed by enzymes secreted by glands in the lobes.”

Yeah that’s the right type. My baby is a little bigger though, gonna re-pot it and let it go mental in my conservatory over the summer which is full of other plants that attract insects:weee:
