I may be wrong but Amyl Nitrite is a medicine and thus needs to be licenced, dont think poppers have contained Amyl Nitrite in years.

Can anyone tell me if old formulation poppers like genuine amyl nitrite are still available/legal in the UK? I’ve heard that the new “EU compliant” isopropyl nitrates are nasty stuff; more dangerous and less fun.

I only use the stuff occasionally but apart from alcohol, poppers are the only legal high that don’t make me ill! I know amyl can be purchased in Europe but there could be real issues with importing it; I’m not sure if it is legal or illegal and I’m sure customs would have something to say about it.

You won’t get a headache using poppers if you only use FRESH poppers and stop before you start to feel the signs of a headache (aching eyes, thirst etc) and it’s probably best to throw the bottle away within about 3 days of opening. Poppers go stale quickly; they last longer kept in the cold but they will still go off after a while.

Anyhow, I found a supplier that ships what are promised to be genuine poppers but the website isn’t very clear about the legal status of shipping to the UK. I suspect it’s a case of discretion and legal grey-areas.

As far as I understand it poppers do not contain Amyl Nitrite these days but I may be mistaken
