thankfully I don’t smoke as much as I once used to but it seems odd this has all happened now, when suburban cannabis growing has been commonplace for about 6 or so years if not more….
I think loads of people are either being turned in or found out due to other surveillance (such as increased use of Police and RAF helicopters with IR searching which would show up growrooms due to the extra heat signature)
IMO its “function creep” – the authorities aren’t initially looking for drugs but they have a lot more resources given to them to keep an eye on certain places; particularly the more cosmopolitan and multicultural areas of the suburbs and cities (would also explain why some rural areas suffer less from the problem)
