its by no means the primary intelligence source – but something the cops support staff occasionally notice whilst going through data gathered from the helicopter or plane when deployed for other missions such as the usual car chases that occur every weekend. – I’ve seen a few reports and articles on how footage from helicopter missions is now digitally recorded and archived and can be called up at a later date.
There are armies of various multmedia boffins employed by cops to look through all sorts of video and image data and even read sites like this – they are not police officers but civillian staff (often ambtious but narrow-minded young graduates)

true-although nowadays growers bypass the meter at the service cable, so the cops nowadays get networks operators like Scottish and Southern / EDF to look for unusual power loads not reflected on meters.

yep, the drought only affects certain regions. Global warming and extreme weather in suburban Britain isn’t going to put off people who come from countries where there are floods/tsunamis etc!
I definitely think a lot of it is growers from the immigrant communities being turned in and busted as part of the breakdown of multiculturalism in some areas though; there aren’t many other reasons for it particularly as this intensive UK growing has been happening since the mid-late 1990s…
