no, weed is far more popular these days. It is grown locally, either by hippies or Asian immigrants. Hash is often contaminated with dubious materials to bulk out the weight and smoked as a last resort – indeed, I rarely see it these days.

we make our own hash, buble hash, kiff ,oil squidgy u name it for exactly that reason. takes a few minutes to make the strongest hash u have ever tasted 🙂

Spain is plentyful in supply. Spain encourages you to grown your own weed if you smoke it so you dont have to purchase it which is illegal over here.

I do, personally i love it through a bong! Cant beat that great big head spinner when you’ve ripped a mountain through! Alot of people from my way agree too.

OK lets alleviate a few fears about growing then….
A close mate got turned over in Luton late last year and he had 8 plants growing. Once they saw what he had they just said “the cps would not even bother to prosecute for 8 plants” so they just left him to it.:weee:

One of his mates got spun with 32 plants on the go and just got fine and community service.

Another mate a few years ago was grassed for having about 10 big plants in garden. The o.b. took about 5 weeks b4 they acted on complaint, by this time he had harvested and told the o.b. its all gone, they then just left him alone.

It seems dope just doesnt warrant the time and manpower it takes to bust a small time grower.

I find the whole thing about asian immigrants growin weed a bit odd. I’m currently livin in a midlands city famous for its asian population. I know at least 10 ‘growers’ in the midlands, all are white.

I’m not sure if we ought characterise asians as bein responsible for most of the growin. They seem to be gettin enough grief as it is. Even if it is true where u are, maybe its best not to say so. Dunno, just a thought.

I guess i have some sympathy for any section of the our community that is under severe pressure. My mum is Irish, my gran was jewish (according to Hitler)and my grandad was a communist (interned inWW2) . Maybe i’m over sensitive! 💡

Its also the definition of “Asian” – Asians can either be South Asian (India/Pakistan) or from East Asia/SE Asia.

Britain’s ethnic monitoring has an anomaly whereby “Chinese” (and those SE Asians who look Chinese) are often counted differently from other Asians.

It may well be a regional thing (particularly SE England and London) but the involvement of Vietnamese, South Chinese and other SE Asians in “commercial scale” cannabis growing is already widely reported and confirmed by both the law enforcement agencies and the local press. TBH I consider it more of a survival crime than anything else…

BTW I am a British Asian and my extended family are from SE Asia (Malaysia, which isn’t that far from Viet Nam!)

What I am getting at is the reason there may be a drought is increasing anti-immigrant sentiment and paranoia over any sort of Asian is causing neighbours in working class or suburban areas (who perhaps wouldn’t have done so) to inform to police about growing factories; so these unfortunate people are being busted.

Fair enough General, you obviously know a fair amount about where u are and i take wot you say on board. Are SE Asians feeling alot of heat too? Thats even worse. I do think this is a terrible time to be Pakistani or Indian in this country. The increase in low-level racist activity, towards this section of the community is largely unrecorded, but must(imho) be huge.

I watched the news one day the other week, when the cricket controversy was kicking off. It was 40 mins long, and every single story portrayed Moslems (specifically ethnically Pakistani), in a very negative light. I couldn’t believe it. It was the Beeb, but the journalistic values were permeated with the kind of ignorance (at least, I hope it was ignorance!), that led people to believe that sending troops to the middle east, was a good idea, in the first place.

Did you see the 2 guys who got took off that plane on the way back from spain the other day, cos the passengers got worried. Mass hysteria or what? They were just a pair of harmless party heads. imho this is the worst time, for racial tension in this country, in over 20 years.:hopeless:

Wot about that girl who went to Pakistan with her family. It was in the news over the last few days The press were more than happy to intimate that she had been kidnapped, would be forced into marriage, against her will etc, etc. At a time of such huge sensitivity. :hopeless:

Is it any wonder that young British Moslems are largely getting their news from satellite channels (al-Jazeera and others), and have given up on the BBC.

Sad times, i’m afraid, General…

it is mostly those who “obviously” look Muslim getting the hassles; but it has indeed permeated through to anyone who is Asian. Bear in mind there are other tension factors than terrorism; such as outsourcing of jobs that our age group tend to do (office/IT/engineering) to Asia.

I wholly agree that race relations in this country have been set back about 20 years or so; I am lucky though I still have a lot of good friends and live in an area which (perhaps only by necessity of the market though ?) remains relatively multicultural

I have done in the past (before I left Reading was just starting so suss out DMX etc) but I haven’t been involved that much in parties recently and the name came more from when I was helping squatters get power to their buildings and making sure their wiring was safe.

Sadly these days (although I have the skills etc) I am getting less and less of a chance to be involved in anything creative due to work pressures and increasing clampdowns on free events; but I am trying to help people round here work within the current constraints and still put on decent events..

Yea, i’ve never done lighting for free parties either (its rare to have enough power for many lights). And i wouldn’t mess about with mains power if i didn’t have too, cos i’m not quite a sparky. but i’ve done a fair bit… over the years!:wink:

i’m movin back to London next month, to work on the corporate side (of the lighting world). I’ve done it in before, so i’m not stressed. But you can never have too many contacts…

Lets hope things calm down on the racism front. Bush has only got 12/18 months left. Hopefully the next ‘el presidente’ will bring the boys back home!

ITS HERE. FUCK FUCK FUCK. Took me ages to pick up today and its fucking crap fresh off the plant unmatured damp rubbish. I only bought it ‘cos i was desperate and refuse to smoke the hash round here. This cant go on for too long. Can it? Maybe I should get a lamp.
