In your country the authorities can actually intercept electronic communications without warrant if they suspect the networks are being used for any sort of drug deal.

The FBI can go straight above our heads and check out stuff at network level, including tracing people to home addresses through their cable or DSL connection.

If feds go to some place like Verizon or SBC or whatever your DSL carrier is they can get whatever info they want nowadays, courtesy of the “war on terrorism” (your politicians have equated recreational drug use with terrorism). The equipment is already in the internet links to help law enforcement to look at what data people are sending, it is often even set up so normal detectives rather than technical specialists can look into the data.

I work with advanced computer and telecoms networks as my day job and it is really easy to trace someone via the internet unless they are a techie using advanced encryption or proxy servers – and even then they can still eventually be tracked down.

It may take a bored local cop to make the effort to contact the feds but in “hicksville” places a lot of cops do have time on their hands and there are actually smart cops about who know how to work a computer! It doesn’t even matter what countries we are in or where sites are hosted any more, the FBI, Scotland Yard, the RCMP all work together these days on the Internet the same as we all do.

The reason it is often hard to find drugs in the USA is because your authorities are actually as harsh as the Asian countries on drugs. OK they may not hang you people and I expect drug dealers won’t get shot unless they resist arrest but the penalties are way harsher than anywhere in Europe, and authorities do fuck up your life even for small amounts. We had some American users on here who got caught in their home towns and they had their drivers licenses and college grants taken away as well as fines/jail time. I saw on the news that even people who had lost homes in Hurricane KAtrina were being refused welfare because they had been done for drugs years ago!

this is a good place to talk about the effects of drugs, but a bad place to try and openly buy them or deal them.

Even with all the technology, your best bet is to stick with your local friends and connections.
