Anyone heard anything about this yet? Have had a little looky but to no avail!
last i heard on the radio, terry wogan was experiencing feelings of happiness and a want to listen to electronic dance music?!
Aha sweet Wogan knows best eh! :laugh_at:
the article says the scientists won’t publish their report until next year.
That may be election year, so I suspect the Govt will just ignore the findings (as they have said they would) as the two main political parties are falling over each other to clamp down harder on drugs….
so its made it onto bbc news…
BBC NEWS | UK | Police against ecstasy downgrade
was on bbc breakfast this morning too
still never going to happen
seeing as they ignored it over weed, cant really see them agreeing that pills should be downgraded.
I think with the cops a suprising number would actually support a phased decriminalisation/legalisation of all drugs but not just one being reclassified, after all they are the ones at the frontline and IMO all of Britain (both the users and the law enforcers) collectively fucked up when cannabis was class C
it would be like cops having a faulty and potentially dangerous panda car and when they took it to the mechanics being told that the police authority had told them there was only the resources to fix half the faults, and that a bunch of people what knew jack shit about cars also had to power to dictate what mechanics were employed or even do the work themselves..
also although MDMA by itself is a safe drug inasmuch as you will very rarely die from taking it (compared to other drugs), it does have impact on others as heavy users suffer severe mood swings and depression
They can often take their feelings out on others close to them, particularly midweek. This IMO was the greatest problem decent pills caused to society “back in the day…”. I know from back in the 90s a lot of ravers had fairly serious domestic problems midweek on comedowns… also a lot of problematic K users turned to this drug after “MDMA stopped working” (thus exacerbating their mental problems).
realistically our only hope would be if all the youths now taking drugs (age 16 upwards) were sensible enough to self-regulate their use and not cause other social problems. If this did actually happen there would be a chance of decriminalisation by the time all of us are elderly…
no chance then.
as ecstasy is just a street name …what is it that they actually suggest should be downgraded – is it mdma?
yep. everything else turning up in pills (other than the amfetamines which are mostly class B) isn’t currently classified (although still illegal to sell for human consumption).
what else do they find in pills?
how long have you got…
I hope they do actually do it rather than listen to the same old narrow minded twats like Anne-im a fat slag-widdecombe!
Ecstasy could be downgraded to class B drug – Telegraph
Also have a look at the twats on the Daily Mail online site!
Some absolute dickhead on the comments page claims E is responsible for most night time violence! What a cock! :laugh_at:
