I have 3 days part time work at the mo at a primary school in Barnsley (takes an hour on the bus to get there from sheff..) and the bus offers a day pass for £4.00…so i get on the bus(‘First’ bus company) from home to town centre then i get a bus from town to work in Barnsley (stagecoach), however on the way back on the bus (stagecoach) the driver says that he cant accept my ticket because its only valid for the ‘First’ bus company. I couldn’t belive it, he said he woulda normally accepted it but since First are no longer accepting passes from Stagecoach, Stagecoach are now retaliating by not accepting First passes….so i had to pay extra fare to get back to sheffield! :cry::cry:

thats terrible, is there any way you can write and complain?

and £4 a day to me seems disgusting to charge for public transport!

the buses round our way are awful, theres a minibus thing roughly every 3 hours for my village, but you have to book for it to stop at 70% of the bus stops, and its 3.60 for a return trip to town which is 10mins away by car…

i remember being in the lake district and we were at a little youth hostel in the middle of nowhere, honnister hause, and the bus ran past it on the hour, was brilliant!

in exeter some of the bus routes cost more per mile than a nasa shuttle going to the moon :crazy:

ATM i am on the buses whilst i sort out some new transport, it actually costs me more in bus fares than it did to put fuel in my bike, tax and insure it!

Also when i was on my motorbike it took me 20 mins on the bus it takes me an hour and 20 mins! :you_crazy

Apart from London, buses are a joke in this country. There is a disgraceful lack of govt investment. Anyone from Manchester care to comment?

Tho i did see 2 today in Lutterworth, adorned with the slogan ‘Ride the Beaver’! :laugh_at:

i saw one in copenhagen that said “slut spurt – 10% off” all down the side
