Fuck man I know what you mean. I’ve had to live with this for my entire life (or at least the last 9 years)
Back when I hit the mandy and raving scenes many of my alcohol swilling family would take the moral high ground and accuse me of fucking my body up. They’d say this usually while pissed out of their nuts.
I always remember when my auntie tried mandy for the first time, She’d always have a go about drugs but I persuaded her to have a dabble.
Fuck me you should of seen her, dancing like a loon, hugging everybody. She loved it.
After that she was well up for coming raving with us. Was a pity the drought happened about a month after that. Still get texts now from her asking where mandy is! :weee:

I am only a youngster compared to some of you guys (and old to a few others) but the last time I was going to freeparties when i was 18-20 there was a growing trend of, lets be honest, dickheads tanked up on stella and coke that just brought the mood down. I haven’t been for a couple of years to one since I moved house and I am sure it still goes on.Maybe I was at the wrong ones, I don’t know.
Despite this thought, there are always the people who you knew were sound and I have had some amazing times.
Bit of both … you find the right parties you’re laughing .. doesn’t mean to say that dickheads won’t find it tho …
I went to some amazing parties and woke up the next morning thinking WTF I just walked along a cliffside to get to that party in a cave last night. Never regreted it though. Also went to some crap parties and my buzz was destroyed ‘cos of the company there. They can’t all be good.

you have come to the wrong place

Okay, so here we are at the beginning of the summer, with parties like Liquid Connective coming up you need to know what you should take.
Here’s a recommended survival kit:
Car: If you don’t have one, find someone who does and be their best friend forever.
In the event of the party being canceled by the time you get there you can easily get back. It’s also a place to crash during the party, and a place to keep the rest of your survival kit.
Maps: Ultra detail – the sort that a rambler would use. A road atlas is no good. You need to know where all the tumuli and lay-lines are cos that’s where the party’s probably gonna be.
A contact number for the party: Don’t leave this at home cos it’s your golden ticket. This is where you’ll get the directions to party from.
Contact number for someone else involved with the party. Vital to find out the TRUE location, because by the time you call this number you would have driven 10 miles in the wrong direction after following the directions given by the official contact number.
An excuse: If you come to a police roadblock, you gotta have something ready to stay when they ask what you’re doing in the area. I said I was visiting my aunt in and it got me through! Don’t forget to turn the music in the car OFF as soon as you see the police. Perhaps you could dress fairly casual/smart (change later), otherwise if you look like a car full of tokin’ crusty hippies I think they’d be more than a bit concerned.
Water: About 8 Litres. Mineral water, not tap water. Some parties might not supply any water. Sometimes there’s a big tank of murky water, but I’d stay clear of it.
Boiled sweets: The best while you are at the peak of your experience.
Munchies. Biscuits: HobNobs to be precise. Watch out for the chocolate coated ones though
Fruit juice: As natural as you can get. Freshly squeezed, not from concentrate, or even one of those Probiotic ones to sort out your stomach. The strawberry flavour is good.
Sandwich: For breakfast – eat around 9-10am.
More munchies: Serious food for lunch.
Torch: So that you don’t bump into trees. Or even worse – people.
Blanket / Groundsheet: To plonk your arse on when you can’t stand up anymore.
Trendy shades: This might be a party through the night, but often it’ll go on through the next day.
Sun cream: It’s a good opportunity to get a good tan, but also a good opportunity to get yourself roasted.
Hope you have a great summer!

Buy your drugs of the sound-system! Its what pays for those fancy Loony-Bins you know! 😉
Not exactly the most PC statement is it?!
Those Looney bins should be paid for with legit money….
waking up 0700 monday morning by someone pointing a submachine gun into your chest, while you try to sleep on the top of the bassbins…that became my routine with the rave culture…I did not mind it really, I used them, the coppers, as an alarm clock, as long as they gave me time to make morning coffee it wasn’t that bad….
thanks for your sharing. I like it.
One query arise in mind is rave party is considered to be a wrong party or it comes under a social party with all good people included in it.
nice article about teknivals and rave culture (if you can read Italian): Rave me tender
right here’s a question for all you long term party’rs this past year from june-july 2011 to present day i feel that partys are very much “overground”! it seems that now its not just local ravers that attend its very much surrounding areas which is good for the scene, however it just seems that any old “jack the lad” get the party line these’s days and seems to bring bad vibes with them, does anyone else think that the party scene has lifted to the point were the wrong crowd of people are getting wind of the party? would anyone like to see the scene go back to underground were we can party for days with less “hastle”?
