To be arrested, one must be detected and seen to be suspicious.
Even then, conviction is not automatic and can be challenged.
The old maxim “Have it away on your toes” or run away to avoid arrest can be quite a time saver. It’s either that or kill every witness without leaving evidence – messy and slow.
