Lord, help me to put on the whole armor You have provided for me so that I can stand strong against the enemy. Help me to be strong in Your Word and in obedience to Your ways. Help me to be steadfast in faith so that I won’t waver in the face of ominous circumstances. Help me to be mighty in praise and worship of You, of who You are and all that You do. Help me to be strong in Your power.

Then don’t hang about in the religion section then….Nobody’s making you read it…

Amy is obviously a very spritual person and you’re not, that’s fair enough.. but this section is here for discussion not slating peoples comments…

Ok then, I would like to know how that helps you stand strong.
What does reading it do for you amy?
I’m not slating it, its just that as a non religious person from a non religious family I find it hard to understand.

Well you’re on the right track! It is a prayer for the WARRIOR – we do not fight against flesh and blood, but powers, principalities…..(sorry, I may be a Christian but I still can’t locate everything…) This is about putting on the whole armor of God – it’s Ephesians 6 ….all I have handy rt now is The Message version – also have ‘the word on the street’, which is targeted more for the UK…… let me know if you’d like that translation as well….

“… God is strong, and He wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.

Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. I realize I haven’t really been clear on why I am posting these…..
I have a bunch of Daily Devotionals all centered around recovery, hope, etc…..I have a calling on my life to use what I know and have learned/am still learning about drugs, addiction, recovery from a Christian perspective to help people in the UK. I really want to get over there in person, but it’s not in the finances yet…so in the meantime the Internet is my forum. When I post elsewhere on here I will TRY to avoid Christianity (no promises tho – it’s who I am) – but when I’m on here just know where I am coming from, that my posts are from an Evangelical standpoint etc. I simply hope that these will shine some light on someone’s day….. :love:

Lord, when I feel weak I turn to You, for You are my strength. When I am at my weakest, You give me a song in my heart. It’s a song of praise to You that I can sing whenever fear threatens to overtake me. Because You have saved me and rescued me from a life of wandering and death, I can now depend on You for guidance, deliverance, healing, and strength. Thanks for sharing that with us Amy, i kinda guessed that the prayers were things you said to get you through 😉

I know a lot of addicts who want to help other people that are in the same situation they used to be in and I think that’s to be commended and I’m sure that your posts will shine some light on someone :love:

I know that the things You have called me to do, even in the daily requirements of my life, are things I cannot do without You. Well, humans are great at getting into trouble – no probs doing that….but very few people can just decide – ok I’m going to stop being an addict today and actually DO it. I know I wasn’t able to – some are and that’s great…..I needed Divine help!
