Just had a quick look on the NL news. There have been more controls against the pills in the Netherlands, and many “old heads” being busted. This is partly because of PMMA pills there creating a scare due to Dutch kids losing their sensible attitudes and going for instant gratification (rather than getting tested) and also dealers getting involved in other crimes and violence. and then there are many other crimes and people behaving sketchy on drugs out there, some of the comments against the hardstyle tunes don’t exactly put the scene in a good light. that “project x groningen” fuckup didn’t help either. Even stuff like the footy linesman being killed shakes it all up, I’ve always wondered if half the amateur footy violence is because these players are on sketchy comedowns as for most of them their agenda is

so it is going back to smaller batches of better quality pills dealt amongst smaller close knit groups of friends, which is how it originally was in the 90s anyway.

Pills are the preferred drug of people more into certain kinds of dance music, and older ravers. but dealers want to make money and chase the biggest customer base. Today, townies have discovered drugs (before they shunned them as they were frightened they would OD / go mad) and now everyone in town also wants to try and be hand/gangsta (which coke/drone/speed are more suited to).

younger lads what want to take pillls and be happy in a night rather than act like oafs are increasingly becoming like grown men going to cat shows. Nothing wrong with it and it doesn’t make you less of a man but its viewed as “strange”. Anyway in both cases they seem more common in Holland :laugh_at:

and this show was way better than the one they had in Birmingham (it was on the guardian) which seemed crowded and tense and not good for the cats or participants (also there was 90% middle aged crazy cat ladies there). The same problems can affect clubbing.

As for pills just had a look at the NL news (of nieuws) and they aren’t having it much easier over the sea, folk are getting busted for piddling amounts of pills that would never have been bothered with even a few months ago. the feds there are turning over both the obvious “gangster” types and even places like student bars. of course there must be thousands more pills available but the message they are trying to send out is that selling them blatantly isn’t on – dat mag niet.

This weekend there was a party for 20 000 people in Utrecht. all were searched, the feds found 83 people with drugs, and got €23 000 in fines. So that was on average €280 each. OK some must have paid less and some more (the fine is proportionate to the amount of pills). it is a combination of a caution and a “low level dealer tax” – the idea isn’t to give small timers expensive prison time for a first offence but to wipe out their profits for carrying dealer level quantities, and also deter casual users as being caught in this manner makes for an expensive weekend, and the Dutch hate having to spend more money than they had planned for….
