that tune was rinsed when I lived in Reading (and used to party in the area mentioned in the thread) and then it got rinsed again when I moved to East Anglia :laugh_at:
that said I don’t actually mind hard trance these days, had to get used to it after moving here. Music genres don’t bother me all that much, what I’m more concerned about is that a party is well run and done for the right reasons.
As I read all the crime reports in about 6 regions (including my former region of Thames Valley) it seems clear the only reason why these raves don’t get busted is because there is fuckloads more crime and dysfunctional behaviour in TVP region than East Anglia, than the locals genuinely tolerating the raves.
Also historically TVP often try to make a “show of strength” towards this time of year with at least one heavy bust on a rave and confiscation of sound equipment…

ps all this ‘my genre is better than yours’ stuff is rather pointless.. beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and music is all just noise at the end of the day.
the only objective thing you can measure is complexity. And breakcore/psychedelic both win at that hands down 😀
*ahem*

yeah, i think the important thing is to keep a good mix at events. a whole night of dnb would do my head in, as would a whole night of hard dance.
its gettin harder to define alot of music anyway. a tune on one site would be under hard dance whilst under electro/techno on another.

People say Ketamine is to blame for the fall of the party scene and dancefloors alike – i say its hard trance.
haha nice! Not all hard trance is bad, although back when i was hitting the free parties all the time, all i heard was the same old tunes so it got kinda boring after a while.

light hearted gabba techno with grated cheese on top would perhaps be my definition
ew.
Perfect!
Yeah you will hear hard trance played a lot at partys round ere, I dont mind it to be fair but it seems to be the same tunes that are often played so it gets boring… a bit of variety wouldnt go amiss
