i think it was more like the quality of pills steadily went down, and at some point they just didn’t contain mda (or whatever) that made them trippy, and overall they got worse and cheaper and then mdma become much more popular where it was available and then it became widely available as whoever was making the pills went too far and they were pure junk… and now generally pills are still not great and everyone knows it. on a forum where unnamed pills of the past are described only as red or orange or whatever it probably sounds like they were junk just cos they didn’t come in a tidy branded pack with whats hopefully inside printed on the bag, but in the first years i went clubbing they were really really good. imo and also friends i went clubbing with at that point, nothing compares to the overall drug experience… even mdma i had made by a friend who was a professor/scientist was really good, but they didn’t have that overall feeling, something was still missing… although it was also really tasty. rc’s aren’t going to be a scratch on them, especially for a club environment, even though you might get a semi looking at the scientific looking label. i didn’t take these pills for a psy experience, it was just an extra bonus that they were trippy and that made the night even more fun and like an adventure. i’ve only done psy’s in a club twice and its not really my thing cos i like to connect to people, thats what clubbing is about for me and i like drugs that compliment that, and the pills we used to get were best imo for this.

What might be fun at home or with friends could be a full on paranoia trip and/or even dangerous.
i never did pills at home, only on the odd, ‘oh you’re doing it, why? ok whatever’ type evening. they were a club drug only for us, mostly cos once you were up you just wished you were at a club. my route home wasn’t really dangerous and getting home was still easy enough as long as we didn’t all follow each other by mistake, whereas when i did 2c-e at a club recently, i needed a friend to find the way as i was… somewhere else.
