So, my ex was a herion addict. When ever he couldn’t get ahold of any dope, he would go to the doctor or ER and come out with a presciption for oxycontin. I got to the doctor, in real pain, and all I get told is take some freakin tylenol. Tylenol does not help with the pain I’m in at all. I just dont understand how someone who actually needs a stronger pain medicine cant get anything and a known drug addict can.
The obvious answer would be they need higher doses because of higher tolerance. But in my experience it’s just the opposite. doctors won’t give you shit if they think you’re a junkie.
also IMO addicts are more up for lying/exagerating thier symptoms to the doc so as to ensure they get that medication. where as people who just tell the doc the truth may just get the normal amount of medication.
^they know the game better. If you get a subscription to the BFI you can see contraindications on most of those meds is likelihood for abuse, they are not prescribed to open srug users except where necessary.
Addition is a medical condition like any other. People who are sick need treatment.
i think so People who are sick need treatment.
