I don’t know how old you are mate, but I remember 1998 like it was yesterday, John Collins scoring that pen. against Brazil in the first game, only needing to beat the “weakest” team after playing Norway off the park in the game before and getting horsed by Morocco.

And then in 1999 for the Euro 2000’s playing England – 17th November 1999 was the date we went to Wembley and deserved to turn round the 2-0 defeat but only managed a Don Hutchison goal 🙁 My best mate’s 18th we spent the night getting paralytic in Hotshots in Glasgow lol….

i’m 43 buddy but still a teenager in the heid. grew up in the glory days when we qualified for 5 in a row. we never done nowt but at least we were there. best game i’ve been to (an i’ve been to loads) was beating england 1 nil at hampden. 85 it was. 66 and a half thou was there for that glorious day.(useless fact alert)

Aren’t we all mate haha! My first WC memory was Italia 90, watching us play Sweden at home on the telly, so you have some mileage on me my friend. I went to the Denmark game in August but struggle to get up the road as much as I’d like.

I KINDA agree but it suits our nature to lose gloriously at someone else’s fault not ours. We’re never happier than when we’re miserable. The only people in the world with a bigger chip on their shoulders is Ireland.

Scotland has a plethora of skilled managers, right through the Scottish and English leagues. I’d personally like to see Walter Smith go back, but only if he keeps himself focused on it. As much as I love what he did at Rangers (dragged us kicking and screaming to 2 league titles we scant deserved) I felt we were making fantastic progress under him as a national manager. I don’t think Levein is that inept, but his decisions and tactics sometimes baffle the fuck out of me.
