i was raised christian but i have my questions.
as far as reincarnation, i do believe that some if not all of us are reincarnated. there have been too many cases where i’ve seen little kids who couldn’t possibly have been coached talk about living in the damn 1800s and shit. it’s a poor excuse to believe in such a thing, i realize, but as part of my own personal beliefs…yes, i believe we can be brought back as something or someone else. maybe we come back as the opposite sex or a certain kind of animal…who knows? no one’s ever lived to tell about it haha. i find it an interesting subject considering most people that i know do not believe in that and they tend to refer to it as kind of a ehhh, for lack of a better phrase, witchcraft type belief like paganism maybe. not sure. i don’t see the issue with paganism because they worship mother nature and believe that all things big and small matter. i believe that too so maybe i’m a pagan and don’t know it. all i really know is no one knows what happens after we die but i think wishful thinking and the power of suggestion can make you lean towards one thing over another depending on how you were raised.
for instance, they had that little kid that died on the operating table and said he saw jesus – maybe he did. i can’t be certain because i wasn’t there and i didn’t see it. does that mean that it never really happened? not necessarily.
i think the biggest problem with this planet is people’s minds are not open enough to stretch their thinking beyond what they see or hear or experience. i tend to lean towards more of a spiritual way. yes, i pray to god but what is god other than what is said in the bible? is god a he or a she? is it in the sky where they suggest heaven is? is it an animal or an idea? i don’t know. i pray to god and thank him for blessing me but as far as what the bible says, i’m not so sure that it’s verbatim. turning people into salt pillars and making frogs rain from the sky seems to be a very vulgar display of power. and if god was really like this in the old testament, then why isn’t he like this now? surely people today have evolved into much bigger assholes than back then. the whole creation story about adam and eve is false, the big bang theory is false (IMO) so i don’t really have an answer for you on where the earth came from or how long it’s been.
think about it – why do we have fossils dating back to “x” date? only because we guessed. time is a man-made system to help us organize our lives. it exists only in a dimension that we cannot access through physical contact – only through our minds. take away all the sundials and clocks and watches in the world. what time would it be? no one would know. if we really studied this and got down to brass tax, we would eventually find out that everything we think exists around us is merely man made except for other creatures. sure the whole story about the sperm and the egg meet and go out to dinner and fuck and boom there’s a baby but c’mon. that’s nature. it just does. it’s like nike’s slogan: just do it. that’s what nature does, it just does it.
also the argument between issac newton and albert einstein can be questioned as well – newton says the world is perfect in an imperfect way. einstein says the world is imperfect in a perfect way. whose side are you on? why is the sky blue? why do our brains have imperfections? why does nature naturally just happen? i mean what is gravity for that matter but an invisible force pulling humans and everything else to earth. your weight is literally just measured in a fashion that tells you how much the earth’s gravity has to pull on you to get you to stay put instead of floating away.
